So…. I didn’t want to… but I’m doing a second round of HCG with my Husband.
This diet works incredibly fast and well, it’s just a bit depressing to be on. Because you really can’t eat anything that the average person (even healthy eating person) can eat.
Thus, as a fellow food lover… This can be depressing to me.
HOWEVER, here are some tips and tricks I’ve picked up over my time bonding with the HCG Diet:
BEST MEALS:
- Green Onion Soup (Click text for full recipe)
- Lean Beef almost hamburger (Click text for full recipe)
BEST SNACKS:
- Pickles (Make sure you check the label of the Pickles you select at the store but the majority of Pickles have zero calories, zero carbs)
- Flavored Stevia, add some to your water and it’s a MILLION times better than plain boring water! Plus no calories, no sugar, no carbs! Doesn’t get better than that. I haven’t seen this available at any supermarkets so you’re going to have to find a whole foods store for this.
- Red Delicious Apples, They are red. And trust me delicious as it comes on the HCG Diet. This is my nightly snack while I snuggle in blankets and watch bad reality TV
- Zevia Cola, it’s a Stevia-based Diet Coke, without the cancer causing ingredients. And it’s about the only thing I could get my HCG Doc to approve of. Zevia also comes in Grape, Root Beer, and Orange Soda. (This one you will also have to go to the whole foods store for; I have yet to see it in any regular grocery store).
- Yummy Flavored Gum ,This is great because you can have as much of this as you want! Just make sure you find sugar-free gum, there is also stevia and xylitol sweetened gum available at whole food stores. My fave is Trident White Pina Colada, it’s like I’m chewing Piña Colada, while whitening my teeth and loosing weight! Plus curbing my appetite.
- Strawberried covered in stevia or xylital or a mixture! Mmmm tastes like candy!
A few days ago I just finished the three week maintenance period for HCG.
I did the HCG injections and 500 calorie diet for 35 days (I didn’t make it the full 40, ran out of injections and the will to continue). I lost 26 pounds. I did the three week maintenance period, and I’ll admit to cheating a bit on it, but I made sure I went to the gym a lot on those days so that I wouldn’t gain weight.
I’ve kept off the weight I have lost and am extremely happy with my results. I wasn’t hungry when I did the injections ever. I did see other people enjoying delicious food during this time and was tempted but wasn’t really hungry or wanting it. I also wasn’t tired or didn’t have any odd side-effects from the HCG and only in-taking 500 calories a day.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to loose 20 pounds or more. It was very much worth it for me! After doing this I have more energy, self esteem, and feel much better about bathing suit season creeping up…

HCG Diet – About It, Does It Work, Etc…

(WIN-WIN Situation)
I started the diet at 207 lbs… today I am 192 lbs. I was 158 in high school and when Kris and I got married.
Here’s what happens, every morning Kris and I inject 25 mg of HCG. HCG is a hormone pregnant women produce (its what shoes up on pregnancy tests). Basically this hormone kicks in when you are pregnant cuz a lot of women have bad morning sickness and aren’t able to eat much. So your body produces this hormone to compensate, so if you’re sick and can’t eat anything then your body will take energy from your fat storage and use that as fuel for yourself and your body. Thus, this diet works the same way even if you don’t have a baby.
The diet consists of 500 Calories daily, mainly Vegetables, fish, no carbs, breads, or sugars….One pound of weight is equal to 3500 Calories, so your body is burning more than it’s in-taking. If you run 30 mins or walk one hour than you should be able to burn one pound a day… its hard but we’ev both seen pretty good results after the first week.
I did cheat a lot on Super Bowl Sunday and as a result I gained a pound and will continue taking the shots it’s just that it will take another three day of doing the diet and working out hard before I will see any results again in my weight loss, which sucks.
